Review of How to Beguile a Duke by Ally Broadfield
The spirited Catherine Malboeuf has just arrived in England to reclaim her ancestral home, Walsley Manor, and a valuable missing heirloom. Nicholas Adair, the attractive and frustratingly inflexible Duke of Boulstridge, however, is quite unwilling to sell the estate back to Catherine. Unless, of course, she accepts a small wager...
Nick will sell Walsley Manor if--and only if--Catherine secures an offer of marriage from an eligible member of the ton before the end of the London season.
Of course, Nick is certain he'll win. After all, no proper gentleman would ever marry a woman who conceals a cutlass in her skirts. Yet something about Catherine's unconventional disposition seems to ignite a need deep inside him. A need that won't just cost him the wager, but the very heart he swore to never give away...

This was a great read, I loved it. I wasn't ready for it to end where it did, I could've read a few more chapters about the couple, but it ended in a cute spot.  This book has everything I love in a good book. Drama, Mystery, and my favorite, historical romance! Can't go wrong with that!  I was a little disappointed that the biggest mystery of the book was not resolved, but with the way it ended, it's kind of open for a sequel, if that's what the author wants to do.  The chemistry between the characters is great.  This book was pretty fast paced and really hard to put down.  I did fall asleep reading at one point, but that was just me needing a power nap.  As soon as I woke up, I started reading again right away.

Ally has worked as a horse trainer, director of marketing and development, freelance proofreader, and a children's librarian, among other things. None of them were as awesome as writing romance novels (though the librarian gig came closest). She lives in Texas and is convinced her house is shrinking, possibly because she shares it with three kids, five dogs, a cat, a rabbit, and assorted reptiles. Oh, and her husband.
Ally likes to curse in Russian because very few people know what she's saying, and spends most of what would be her spare time letting dogs in and out of the house and shuttling kids around. She has many stories in her head looking for an opportunity to escape onto paper. She writes historical romance set in Regency England and Imperial Russia.
You can find Ally on the links below, though she makes no claims of using any of them properly.

OMG...This whole series was great, but this book...just wow.  The back story, the drama, all the little twists and turns!  It was a slow read for me, but so worth it.  I'm so tired...I read the second half of book one, book two, and book three all in a few days.  The last 24 hours, I caught a couple hours of sleep here and a power nap there cuz I wanted to finish book three in time but I didn't want to skip book two, lol.  So worth the lack of sleep though, these books are so good!  Go buy them now, the bibliophiles are great characters and you will fall in love with them, just as I have.  Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster though.  I laughed, I cried, I about threw my Kindle at one point.  Just a really awesome read!

This books was so great.  Heart warming and heart wrenching.  This author writes kids cute as hell!  I read this book in about 5 and a half hours.  I'm a pretty slow reader, so that's saying something.  I didn't make a lot of notes on this book, a small handful, but that's because I was so wrapped up in the story to notice anything.  I'm glad I didn't beta this one.  I'm in this author's street team and she posts chapters as they're written.  It would've been pure torture to wait for the next chapters in this one!  It's a total page turner!

Promo of Defcon Darcy by AJ Lape
Fisher Stanton, Valley High School’s Nantucket wannabe, has a cheating girlfriend. When he hires Darcy Walker to chase her to a local club, in true Darcy fashion she stumbles upon a dead body. Thing is, this body has secrets…and Darcy’s mysterious friend, Jaws, and the reporter, Tito Westbrook, have a vested interest. Both enlist Darcy to find the person responsible who has eluded them for years, but Darcy doesn’t solve crimes for free anymore, especially where Jaws is concerned. Knowing Darcy’s Achilles heel, Jaws blackmails Darcy into working for him.

In a true test of wills, Darcy and Jaws battle head-to-head to see who can outsmart the other—Jaws needs Darcy to help him end a bitter grudge war; Darcy needs Jaws to divulge the mystery surrounding her mother’s death. Haunted by a past that shaped her present, Darcy will stop at nothing to get answers. Even if it means breaking the law and being disloyal to her new boyfriend, Dylan Taylor, in the process.

DEFCON DARCY gives Darcy’s demons a name and ties up loose ends that made Darcy into the verb that she is. What she thinks she knows as truth, isn’t. What she wishes wasn’t true…is.

The problem is, when your life goes DEFCON 1, not everyone lives to tell about it.

Review of Commanded by Nicholas Bella
Title:   House of Theoden
Number in Series:  Season 2, Book 1
Author:  Nicholas Bella
Genre:  GLBT, Dark Erotica, BDSM, Paranormal

Théoden: On the evening of branding my new son, Noel, my King has called a special meeting of his Court. I can't possibly guess what this meeting is about, as everything within his kingdom is running perfectly. I do know one thing, Ara loves to entertain and be entertained, so at least that's something to look forward to. What I'm not looking forward to is having to see Nolan, Lord of District Four. We really don't get along. Well, as for my children, when the Master is away, the boys will play. In fact, I insist on it.
Noel: I've just received my official brand, the insignia of the House of Théoden. Along with the brand comes a load of responsibilities I am to adhere to. Apparently, my new life involves being an enforcer. I'm to be trained by Marco, my eldest and most sadistic brother. I'm not looking forward to that, not one bit. At least tonight, I'll get a reprieve. For tonight, we celebrate as only the House of Théoden can.

Warning: This serial contains strong adult content not meant for sensitive eyes. The novelettes in this serial will be filled with dark, twisted, raunchy and steamy scenes between powerful, sexy men that will either offend you or get ya revved up. This series will not be pulling any punches, and it won’t apologize for hurting your feelings, either. You’ll find no fluff and ruffles here. The vampires are not misunderstood, hopeless romantics looking for love. The werewolves are not cute and cuddly and the dragons aren’t the ones from your childhood. This is NOT a romance. There are approximately 19,100 words in this novelette.

Amazon | Smashwords | Goodreads | B&N
I'm really liking this serial.  There's nothing offensive in this episode, unless you have issues with guys having sex, then you shouldn't be reading this in the first place.  There weren't any lessons in this one, believe that's saved for the next book.
I really wish this was a full novel.  This waiting for the next the next episode sucks, lol.  I hope I get the chance to read the next one, I can't wait to see what else happens!

About me? Hmmm, I'm just a person with a wild imagination and a love for words who was sitting around the house one day and said, "Why hasn't anyone written a book like this before?" As with every storyteller, I wanted to share mine with the world. I like my erotica dark, gritty, sexy... and even a little raunchy. I'm not afraid to go there and I hope you aren't afraid to go there with me. When I'm not writing, I love watching movies and TV shows, clubbing, biking, and hanging out with family and friends. I love life.
